Strategic Test

Strategic Test claims to have achieved a world first with its new PCI Express based arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) boards. With synchronous multi-channel capability, these boards are suitable for demanding signal processing applications that include I&Q signal generation, radar system development, communications testing, laser positioning, and HDTV signal generation.

There are four new AWG boards in the UF2e-6030 series, offering a choice of one, two or four channels and 14-bit resolution. Each is capable of capturing data at the rate of 125mS/s. Each channel has its own 14-bit D/A converter to ensure synchronous output and a choice of three reconstruction filters (fifth and fourth order Butterworth low-pass) giving bandwidths of 25MHz, 5MHz or 500kHz. A no-filter option is also software-selectable.

Typical dynamic specifications include a signal-to-noise ratio of better than 61dB, total harmonic distortion of less than 71.5dB and spurious-free dynamic range greater than 72dB. The boards are supplied with 32 mega-samples of signal memory as standard, but can be expanded to tw giga-samples through a proprietary onboard DIMM module.
